Israeli lending startup, Fundbox raises $17.5M

Founded in 2012 by an Israeli team, Fundbox announced that it raised $17.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Khosla Ventures. Fundbox is a data analytics tool for small businesses that promises to accelerate cash flow by clearing outstanding invoices. The company will use the investment to increase marketing and grow from its San Francisco HQ. To read more about Fundbox, click here.

Startup Nation survey finds that 1,000 startups launched in Israel in 2013

A new survey of Israel’s startup ecosystem revealed that 1,000 startups were launched in 2013 — and for each startup that fails, two more startups are created. The study also found that the average age of Israeli entrepreneurs is higher than expected. The survey was produced by Terra Venture Partners and Donna Abraham for Israel’s Globes business daily.
