Vegan-friendly salmon could become the newest staple on menus after an Israeli startup said it had invented the world’s first fish steak made entirely from legume proteins and algae extracts.

The company, Plantish, announced the product this week, saying that it had developed a system for 3D printing that would allow it to make plant-based fish alternatives.
